The VI International Biennial Dona i Cinema – Mujer y Cine – Woman & Film comes back in January 2021. We open again the call for proposals for the new image for next edition. The call is open to female artists. designers, students or amateur.
CALL FOR PROPOSALS | POSTER COMPETITION
VI International Biennial Dona i Cinema – Mujer y Cine – Woman & Film
The call’s objective is to promote young women artist from the Valencia Community, Spain and the rest of the world. The poster and its design will be the image of the International Film Festival Dona i Cinema-Mujer y Cine-Woman & Film. The image will be used for the promotion of the activities related to the Bienal (screenings, talks, both in printed and digital format) until the creation of the new image for the Bienal in 2023.
RULES AND REGULATIONS:
1. FIRST: Participants
Women artists and designers, from everywhere in the world, are invited to participate. The proposals can be submitted by individuals or as a team. Each participant or team can submit a maximum of 2 proposals.
The call is mainly addressed to design schools students, university students etc… or generally Young artists with the aim of promoting their work. This do not excludes the participation of any woman, professional or amateur, of any age, who wants to participate.
2. SECOND: Topic, characteristics, format and signage
TOPIC
The topic of the poster should be related mainly to the International Biennial Dona i Cinema-Mujer y Cine-Woman & Film and the visibility of women as directors and as part of every aspects of the audiovisual sector.
CHARACTERISTICS
The works submitted must be unpublished and original, not being awarded in any previous competition. The works must not be by any means, entirely or partially, a reproduction or illegal copy of published works or other artists. In case the author might use non-original elements in the creation of the poster, this must be supported by necessary licenses for their use.
The posters might be realized with any technique or method, providing that its reproduction will be suitable for technological and audiovisual supports.
FORMAT AND SIGNAGE
The works must be submitted in digital format. The layout must be vertical and the dimensions must be 70×90 cm. The poster submitted must include the following text, and enough space should be left for the insertion of official logos:

In addition to the title, each participant is free to include a slogan related to cinema and women created by them. The works containing errata in their signage will not be accepted.
Once the winning poster has been chosen, the artist must provide different formats for printing (CMYK) and for online and digital promotion (RGB). As well as an open file of the poster for edition of promotional material.
3. THIRD: Prize
There is a Cash Prize of 500€ for the winning design. And also a Special Mention based on the winning poster will be given at the International Biennial Dona i Cinema-Mujer y Cine-Woman&Film 2021.
4. FOURTH: Calendar and presentation
The deadline for submitting the proposals is 30th of November 2020.
Submission should be made through the online entry form. Designs should be uploaded in the form.
5. FIFTH: Advertisement
The winning poster will become property of the organizing entity, Asociación Dona i Cinema, until the election of other design for the next edition in 2023. Its use will be exclusively to promote activities related to the Bienal during the two years following the event for its publication or/and promotion via any media and support.
The call and its rules and regulations, as well as further announcements related to the competition will be published in different websites and social networks belonging to the association.
6. SIXTH: Jury
The Jury will be formed by different representative of the organizing entity. The Jury will be formed and meet in order to give judgment. First, the Jury will check one by one all works submitted to verify the effective compliance with these rules and regulations; therefore the Jury will rule on their final admission.
The Jury may establish procedures it deems appropriate in order to regulate the processes of deliberation and assembly. Jury decision will be made public in different relevant media: websites, social networks, emails etc.
7. SEVENTH: General Rules
Taking part in the competition implies knowledge and acceptance by all contestants of these rules and regulations; any appeal will not be accepted after formal submission.
The contest will be declared void if, in the opinion of the Jury, the posters presented do not reach sufficient quality. In any case, the Jury’s decision is final.
The poster’s artists are responsible of any claims arising in relation to the authorship of the poster and its possible plagiarism.
In compliance with Law 15/1999 on Personal Data Protection, we inform that: the data collected in the registration form will become part of an automated file and will be intended for internal use of this contest.
The competent bodies of Dona i Cinema, in each case, be entitled to any questions that arise and make necessary arrangements for the good order of the competition, in any cases not provided for in these rules and regulations.
