Los cuatro cuentos de Intimidade Pública tratan de temas urgentes y profundos, como la homofobia, la prostitución, los trans-temas y la locura. Intimidade Pública propone un cine que se centra en sus personajes. Luchan por convertirse en quienes realmente son.

You cannot live someone else’s life. Intimidade Pública (Public Intimacy) is a film about how we deal with sexuality and love on public and private levels.
The four stories in Intimidade Pública deal with urgent and profound themes, like homophobia, prostitution, trans-issues and madness. Intimidade Pública proposes a cinema that is focused on its characters. They struggle to become who they really are.

Una cineasta, actriz y profesora, Luciana Canton se graduó en cine en la Universidad de São Paulo y fue ayudante de dirección de Walter Salles en “Foreign Land”. Después de graduarse, estudió Meisner Technique en la New York Academy for Dramatic Arts. Luciana enseña en la Escuela Libre de Cine y Video de Santo André y en la Universidad de São Paulo, donde realiza su doctorado. Después de haber actuado en obras de teatro, películas y televisión, ahora está desarrollando su propia técnica para trabajar con actores, una manera colaborativa de escribir sus guiones con ellos. Intimidade Publica es su primer largometraje.

LUCIANA CANTON
A filmmaker, actress and teacher, Luciana Canton has graduated in film at the São Paulo University,when she was assistant director to Walter Salles in “Foreign Land” After graduating, she studied at the New York University continuing education. She studied the Meisner Technique at the New York Academy for Dramatic Arts. Luciana teaches at the Free School of Cinema and Video of Santo André and at the University of São Paulo, where she does her PHD. Having acted in plays, films and television, she is now developing her own technique to work with actors, a colaborative way of writing her scripts with them. Public Intimacy is her first feature film.
