Joana Chilet has over 30 years of professional experience in the audiovisual sector and cultural management.
She is a partner at the production company Bisílaba, together with screenwriter and director Gabriel Ochoa. They have produced the second season of the documentary series INFORME for À Punt, Televisión Valenciana, and the short film Poma Maura (2025).
As a director, screenwriter, and producer, she completed her documentary short Enguídanos, l’escriptor que viatjà a les estrelles, which tells the story of Pascual Enguídanos, a 1950s “pulp” novelist who wrote under the pseudonyms George H. White or Van S. Smith and was a pioneer of science fiction—one of the most important and yet little-known creators of pulp in Europe. She also directed the documentary medium-length film Regino Mas, l’Art del Foc (2019) for FX Produccions.
As a cultural manager, since 2020 she has coordinated the ADAPTA MARKET project, an online and in-person market in Valencia (Adapta Literary Market). She has also been part of MAFIZ, the industry zone of the Málaga Festival, since its creation, and is the director of PROMERCAT, the co-production market organized by the Institut Valencià de Cultura since 2020.
She has served as Executive Producer on various projects: 25 años de serie B, documentary short (2015); Maniacos de la Serie B (2016), documentary feature; Museo del silencio (2014), documentary feature, multiplatform project; Un hombre de pago, fiction feature, development director for her own production company JCmedia. She was Executive Producer of the documentary feature Hollywood rueda en España (2018) for Sateco Documentalia, and the fiction feature Dioses y perros (2014) for Nadie es Perfecto.
She was Production Director of the documentary feature Chicote, el barman de las estrellas (2018) for Endora Producciones, and of the programs Entre Bastidors and El Xef a Casa (2018) for À Punt.
During her tenure at Televisión Valenciana (1994–2011), she was director of the daily program Punt de Mira and, in various periods, responsible for New Projects, Programming Design, Co-productions, and Broadcast Rights. She also served as Executive Producer on various TV movies and fiction series: Tocant el mar (2012), Mar de plàstic (2011), El Criminal (2010), Tip & Cía (2009), Violetas (2008), Las palabras de Vero (2005), and Maniatics (2007).
