ANA M. RUIZ
Ana M. Ruiz es una directora inquieta que se mueve en distintas disciplinas. Proviene del mundo del teatro trabajando en ese medio como directora, dramaturga y actriz. Estudia en el Instituto del Teatro de Sevilla, especialidad en Interpretación. Cursa Estudios de Dramaturgia (Madrid). Licenciada en Historia del Arte por la Universidad de Sevilla. Máster en Artes del Espectáculo Vivo. Máster en Guión, Narrativa y Creatividad Audiovisual, por la misma universidad.
En 2011 monta la productora ANITA THOMSON. PRODUCCIONES y dirige su primer cortometraje Doctor León Pedicuro, trabajo por el que recibe diferentes premios y menciones, entre ellos el RTVA a la mejor creación audiovisual andaluza. Su segundo trabajo en 2014 La Mujer Asimétrica ha sido seleccionado en múltiples festivales nacionales e internacionales, obteniendo el premio a mejor actriz en el Festival Visualízame Audiovisual&Mujer (Spain) 2014.
Hacer películas es para ella una oportunidad de poner en pie mundos ficticios donde ocurren historias verdaderas. Es una manera de contar y entender el mundo que le rodea.
ANA M. RUIZ
Ana M. Ruiz is a director with a great curiosity and interest in many different areas. She has a background in the theatre milieu, where she has worked as a stage director, playwright and actress.
She studied at the Instituto del Teatro de Sevilla (Theatre Institute of Seville), where she specialised in acting, and she also studied playwriting in Madrid. She has a Master’s Degree in Art History, Live Performing Arts and Script Writing and udiovisual Narrative and Creativity from the University of Seville.
In 2011, she founded the production company called ANITA THOMSON. PRODUCCIONES. The same year, she directed her first short film, Doctor León Pedicuro, which obtained various awards such as the best Andalusian audiovisual production. Her second short film, La Mujer Asimétrica (The Asymmetrical Woman), was produced in 2014 and shortlisted in many film festivals at a national and international level winning the best actress award at the Visualízame Audiovisual&Mujer festival (Spain) in 2014.
Making films is an opportunity for her to create fictional worlds where true stories happen. It’s a way of telling and understanding the world around you.
